Cancellation of Sampo plc's A shares

The Board of Sampo plc has today decided to cancel 90,000 Sampo A shares repurchased during 2009 according to the authorization by the Annual General Meeting. The cancellation reduces the number of Sampo A shares with the corresponding amount but has no effect on the share capital.

Once the cancellation is entered into the trade register, the number of Sampo plc's A shares totals 560,082,390. Total number of shares of the company, including 1,200,000 B shares, is 561,282,390 shares.
