Nordic and Baltic Economies Quarterly and Outlook for Russia 3/2001
Press Release - 12 Oct 2001 at 11:00 AM
The Nordic and Baltic economies are affected by the international downturn, but the impact varies quite a lot from one country to another. The global weakness in the ICT-sector is felt hard in Sweden and Finland, while in Norway and Denmark exports concentrate in traditional industries. The oil sector is supporting both Norway and Russia. Throughout the Baltic Sea area, inflationary pressures are easing, with exception to Sweden in short term. The Baltic countries are getting closer to the target of being fit for joining the EU.
