Sampo's values

Sampo Group shares the values of ethicality, loyalty, openness and entrepreneurship. Sampo Group aims to follow these values in all business operations and with all stakeholders. Sampo's stakeholders are shareholders, customers, employees, media, authorities and cooperation partners.

This code of conduct shall be complied with all the companies belonging to Sampo Group (hereinafter Sampo).

Compliance with laws

All activities in Sampo comply with the relevant laws and official instructions and regulations. Sampo's compliance policy aims to ensure that the companies are governed in a reliable way, that procedures are uniform throughout the Group while taking account of the differences deriving from the different businesses. Further, with this compliance policy Sampo tries to ensure that the whole organisation knows the Group's policies, objectives and guidelines, and that the staff is competent and trustworthy.

Sampo is managed according to healthy and sound business principles. Sampo aims at anticipating changes in society and the capital market, and adapting its operations to them.

Business conduct

Sampo's personnel and other people working for Sampo are expected to act in the company's best interests. Consequently, they must avoid situations where their personal interests may conflict with Sampo's interests.

Only customary gifts and other benefits may be given and received in relationships connected to work. Accepting a gift or other benefit must not lead to any kind of relationship with or dependency on the party presenting the gift. The standards shall be evaluated in accordance with the legislation and legal practice of the respective country. It is strictly against Sampo's policy to accept or offer a bribe.

People in Sampo's employ must not use their position at Sampo to further their own interests. Undisclosed information must be held in confidence. Undisclosed information must not be used to further own interests or interests of one's family or acquintances. Sampo's insiders must follow Sampo's insider regulations.

Sampo's aims in marketing and communication are transparency and clarity. As a listed company, Sampo is obliged without any unfounded delay to disclose and provide NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Ltd with all decisions and information on Sampo and its business operations with a potential significant effect on Sampo's share price.

Personnel

Sampo aims to provide a non-discriminative, agreeable and open work environment. Each employee is treated fairly and equally, regardless of the employee's gender, race, religion, nationality, age or physical ability.

Persons employed by Sampo shall carry out their duties effectively and efficiently. This requires that each person takes the initiative and is initiative, diligent, careful and service-minded.

Persons employed by Sampo must have their superior's permission to practice a profession or act as a self-employed person, or to take up secondary employment. The secondary employment or other financial activity must not interfere with or cause any conflict of interests between Sampo and the employee.

Customer relationships

Sampo's customer relationships are conducted with integrity, fairness, loyalty, confidentiality and servicemindedness.

Sampo follows customer protection legislation. Sampo's representative will ensure that the customer has understood the meaning of the commitment he or she has made. Sampo responds to customers' feedback without delay.

Sampo does not enter into business relationships with customers who act contrary to the law or sound business practices.

Shareholders

As a listed company, Sampo plc has a responsibility to act in the best interests of its shareholders. Sampo plc complies with the Finnish Corporate Governance Code, NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Ltd's regulations and (Finnish) Securities Market Act.

Cooperation partners

Sampo will not engage with suppliers who act contrary to the law or sound business practices.

Sustainable development

Sampo Group's sustainable development policy from June 2001 was updated by the Sampo Board in January 2006.

Through its services, Sampo Group, for its part, aims to contribute to well-being and safety in society. Sampo is aware of its corporate responsibility and commits to developing its operations to further economic, social and environmental sustainability.
