Sampo Groups's parent company Sampo plc administers subsidiaries with insurance operations. In addition, Sampo plc owns more than 20 per cent of the shares in Nordea, the largest bank in the Nordic region. Nordea is as of 31 December 2009 treated as an associate in Sampo Group's accounts.
