We are the leading P&C insurer in the Nordic region and employ over 13,000 people representing various professions, such as financial specialists, insurance advisors, claims handlers, mathematicians, IT developers, analysts, legal counsels, and sales consultants, as well as people from various other professions.

Sampo as an employer

Sampo Group is a Nordic insurance group that also operates in the Baltic countries and the United Kingdom. Sampo Group consists of the parent company Sampo plc and its subsidiaries If in Sweden, Topdanmark in Denmark and Hastings in England. The Group employs more than 13,000 people. The parent company, Sampo plc, is a holding company with full or partial ownership of its subsidiaries operating in the insurance sector. Sampo plc has roughly 50 employees. Sampo plc is a listed company, i.e. the Sampo shares traded on the stock exchange are shares in Sampo plc.

The parent company, Sampo plc, is responsible for the Group's strategy, capital allocation, risk management, group accounts, investor relations, sustainability, and legal and tax matters. The parent company cooperates closely with all subsidiaries.

In geographical terms, 24.2 per cent of the Group's personnel is located in the UK, 20.4 per cent in Denmark, 18.3 per cent in Sweden, 14.5 per cent in Finland and 12.2 per cent in Norway. 8.6 per cent of the personnel are located in the Baltic countries.

As the parent company of the Sampo Group, Sampo plc is responsible for the Group's strategy, capital allocation, risk management, group accounts, investor relations, sustainability, and legal and tax matters. Sampo plc has 58 permanent employees (31 December 2023), of which 10 hold leader positions. The Sampo head office is located in the centre of Helsinki, and Sampo also has a branch office in Stockholm.
