Sampo Group's business is divided into four main businesses:

  • If P&C Insurance is the leading property and casualty insurer in the Nordic region. The P&C Insurance Group's parent company, If P&C Insurance Holding Ltd, is located in Sweden. If subsidiaries provide insurance solutions and services in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Baltic countries.
  • Mandatum Life is responsible for Sampo Group's life insurance operations. It also offers wealth management services under an insurance wrapper. The Mandatum Life Group is made up of the Finnish parent company, Mandatum Life (which is fully owned by Sampo plc) and its subsidiaries Mandatum Life Services Ltd, Mandatum Life Investment Services Ltd. and Mandatum Life Fund Management S.A.
  • Topdanmark is the second largest non-life insurance company and the fourth largest life insurance company in Denmark. Sampo holds more than 45 per cent of its share capital. Sampo consolidates Topdanmark as a subsidiary as of 30 September 2017 in its financial reporting.

  • Nordea Bank is the largest bank in the Nordic region. Sampo holds more than 20 per cent of its share capital. 

Sampo plc is Sampo Group's parent company and it administers the insurance subsidiaries. Sampo plc is listed in Nasdaq Helsinki. Nordea is Sampo plc's associated company.
